What material is the spring made of? It is made of spring steel, the most commonly used steel is 65Mn, and the heat treatment method is quenching and tempering.


Spring forming technology



Cold forming


1) Cold forming process one-time active ability. The cold forming machine has been developed to 12 claws. The steel wire in the range of (0.3 ~ 14) mm is formed at one time in the 8-claw forming machine. Developing direction of forming process equipment:


(1) Forward forming speed, the primary development trend is the forming speed of forward equipment, that is, consumption efficiency;

Hot forming


1) Hot forming process speed ability. China's forming on (9~25) mm specifications only CNC2 shaft hot coil spring machine, the speed of 17 pieces per minute. Compared with prosperous countries, the distance is large.


2) Large spring hot forming process control ability. Because there is only CNC2 shaft hot spring coiling machine, the shape control is less than three directions and the accuracy is poor; Moreover, there is no active bar rotation control and adjustment organization, so the degree and ability of hot coil spring forming process is low. Therefore, the degree of precision and surface oxidation and decarburization of the spring is also low.



Spring function


1. Primary function


1 Control the movement of machinery, such as the valve spring in the internal combustion engine, the control spring in the clutch, etc.


(2) Absorb oscillation and shock energy, such as the buffer spring under the car and train car, and the vibration absorption spring in the coupling.


(3) Storage and output energy as power, such as wall clock springs, firearms springs, etc.


④ Used as force measuring components, such as force gauges, springs in spring scales, etc. The ratio of the load to the deformation of the spring is called the spring stiffness, and the greater the stiffness, the harder the spring.



2. Measure the function

3. Reset function


The spring deforms under the action of an external force, and after the external force is removed, the spring can recover. Many tools and equipment use this property of the spring to reset. For example, many buildings have a reset spring on the hinge of the door that automatically resets after people enter and exit.



4. Drive function


Mechanical wall clocks, wind-up toys are all driven by wind-up. When the spring is wound up, the spring twists and turns and stores a certain elastic potential energy. After the release, the elastic potential energy is transformed into kinetic energy, which is driven by the transmission device. In toy guns and starting guns and military guns are also one of the nature of the use of spring operations.



5. Buffer function


A spring is installed between the frame of the locomotive car and the wheel, and the elasticity of the spring is used to slow down the fluctuations of the vehicle.



6. Sound function


When the air moves through the spring holes in the harmonica and accordion, it shocks the reed, and the reed makes a sound.



7. Compression function


Observing various electrical switches, it will be found that one of the two contacts of the switch must be equipped with a spring to ensure that the two contacts are closely touched and the conduction is outstanding.
